Common Questions

Frequently Asked
Questions

Where is Alon Tattoo Studio located?

Alon Tattoo Studio is located at Rule Arcade, Barangay Poblacion, Cordova, Cebu City 6017, Philippines. Cordova is a municipality on Mactan Island, easily accessible from Cebu City via the Marcelo Fernan Bridge. We are inside Rule Arcade — message us on WhatsApp for specific directions if needed.

Do I need to book in advance?

Appointments are strongly preferred — particularly for custom designs, large pieces, and sleeve work. Booking in advance ensures we have time to design your piece properly before the session. We do accept walk-ins on a limited basis depending on daily schedule availability. Message us on WhatsApp to check for same-day openings.

How do I prepare for my tattoo session?

For the best experience: eat a full meal 2–3 hours before your session, stay well-hydrated, get adequate sleep the night before, wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area, avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior, and avoid sunburn on the planned tattoo site. If you are on any medication, let us know during your consultation so we can advise accordingly.

Do you do custom designs?

Yes — custom design is at the core of what we do. Every tattoo we create is designed specifically for you. The process begins with a consultation (in-person or via WhatsApp) where we discuss your concept, reference imagery, placement, and size. We then prepare a design for your review before the session begins. We do not use flash or pre-made templates without modification.

How long does a tattoo session take?

Session length varies by design. Small pieces (5–10cm) typically take 1–2 hours. Medium pieces take 3–5 hours. Large pieces, detailed realism work, and sleeve sessions can run 6–8 hours and may be split across multiple appointments. We do not rush our work — we schedule sessions with enough buffer time to do the job properly without compromising quality.

What aftercare do you recommend?

We are proud partners of Salve Professional Tattoo Butter, which we recommend for aftercare. General guidelines: keep the tattoo clean and moisturized during healing, avoid soaking in pools or the ocean for 2–3 weeks, protect from direct sun exposure during healing, and do not pick or scratch the healing skin. We provide detailed written aftercare instructions at the end of every session.

Do you do touch-ups?

Yes. Touch-ups on work done at Alon are handled on a case-by-case basis. If an area requires refreshing due to natural healing variation, we assess and advise accordingly. Touch-ups must be done after the tattoo is fully healed (minimum 4–6 weeks). For work done elsewhere that needs rework or improvement, message us with photos so we can evaluate before committing to a session.

What styles does Alon specialize in?

Alon's signature style is Fine Line — delicate, precise single-needle work. Beyond that, we specialize in: Black & Gray Realism (photorealistic portraiture and nature), Color Realism (vivid painterly tattoos), Minimalist & Micro (small geometric and symbol work), Dotwork & Geometric (mandala, sacred geometry, stippling), Custom Sleeves (full-arm narrative compositions), and Traditional & Neo-Traditional (bold, classic motifs). Visit our Portfolio page for full descriptions of each style.
